Worried Parents equals Idiotic Leaders.
Okay, so this was defintely the week of terrible mothers who are acting as leaders in their pack. I was complained to numerous times about how I was being too mean to the kids while shooting archery. I need to be mean and yell, dammit. The kids won't learn and obey my rules if I don't. Yelling tells the scouts that I RUN THE RANGE. And yes, we may have been harsh on one kid, but he had the arrow pulled back and had turned it towards a kid head. Better a scared kid than a dead one. Whole lot less paperwork to deal with then. These same parents complained the whole week, though, about random crap. One little bit of random crap that they complained about was the fact that we didn't keep the kids entertained enough, but when we did keep them entertained it wasn't new or interesting or it was too hard. For god's sake, make up your fucking mind!
Granted, this was the same group that complained when I was having two people on the line practice at a time when I thought I was supposed to have them practice for some competition that never occurred. They said that all the kids waiting to shoot were ADHD and wanted to shoot. Well, sorry that I didn't know we weren't going to compete anymore, but in the time it took the fucking parents to complain, the kids were done and everyone else was shooting. Oh, and it's quite natural for kids at the age of 6-9 to be antsy and not want to pay attention. ADHD is nothing more than a blown-up, mostly fake issue that parents push onto their children since they don't know how to properly take care of their kids. Yes, there are children who are attention-deficit, but the vast majority of people on the pills don't need them. It's an issue to talk about another time, but I really wish stupid parents wouldn't use it as an excuse anymore.
This is a problem that I've seen grow throughout the years. Parents have become the biggest wusses in the world, especially in scouting. Parents want to prevent their kids to do anything hard and push them through advancement as fast as possible. And the best part is that the council we're in wishes to make advancement a total sham and the biggest load of shit in the world. But again, that's for another time.
Oh, and on a side note, I hate people who give me bullshit information about advancement and then can't even give me an answer when I ask a simple question. Advancement chairpersons are the biggest idiots in the world who think they can make up their own little rules for every little fucking thing. I've had my fair share of fights and battles with them in the past two years, so I know this first hand. I know the kids need a signed sheet from me to get their archery pins and such, but when I ask you if I can just sign a master sheet, you can't answer me and instead tell me to ask the scout shop?! Go to hell! You don't know what the fuck you're talking about in the first place!
